The conductors
Carey Helmink is a private piano and voice instructor, professional accompanist and the director of choirs at Lincoln Berean Church. She has taught hundreds of students through the years and continues to enjoy working with adults, middle school students and high school students in choral settings. She continues to be the director of Esprit de Corp – a high school choir that tours in the summer.
She has a degree in vocal music from the University of NE at Lincoln and continues to be a lifelong learner and lover of teaching. She believes that the best music is made by people who are connected to one another, so relationships always take precedent over results. Carey is married to Kyle, has four awesome, grown, married children and 10 beyond delightful grandchildren. |
Kevin Boesiger is the Director of Music and Outreach at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Omaha. He has been conducting church choirs since he was 19 years old. He has a passion for choral music and writes and arranges music for choirs. He is published with several companies and continues to compose new music. In June of 2026 he will conduct a new choral work based on The Pilgrim’s Progress. The Journey will be premiered at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Kevin has a bachelor’s degree in music education from Nebraska Wesleyan University and a masters degree in music composition from the University of NE in Lincoln. Kevin is married to Tami, has four amazing, grown, married children and 5 adorable grandchildren. |
